Things to do when you are at Bray

Keeping aside the ‘not so’ benign weather, if you get a sunny day here and you are in for a hike or an invigorating walk, then Dublin has few places to offer which are just a stone throw away. These hikes reflect an essence of the rugged landscapes and scenic green vistas Ireland has to offer. Been here countless times, I can safely consider myself capable enough to write a few lines from my personal encounter.

Bray a coastal town towards the south of Dublin, has a right balance of scenic beauty and things to do. You have a lot of places to eat and even fancy a game of bowling. The trail in itself divides into 3-4 routes, prominent and the favorite one being the bray to greystones cliff walk.

Bray head gives you the height to look at the pristine sea. Or you can go along the cliff walk about 7 kms to Greystones and burn a few calories while enjoying the rugged cliff. The trail is neither long nor short enough to bore and exhaust you.

Greystones has the DART connectivity and you can catch a train back if you like. If none of the above suits you, you can just sit by the beach, savor a fish and chips or softie and let the day go by.

Reaching Bray is quite easy as you can get a Dublin bus, DART from Dublin city center or a car for yourself, which is not more than an hour of commute.

DARTS from Connolly run every 30 mins to 1 hour. Bus route #155 from city center also with similar frequency.

You will get a plethora of food cuisines here to treat yourself. Fish and chips for the regulars or wine and dine who fancy for some more. Italian, English, Mediterranean and Indian platefuls are a delight to your belly if you had an amazing hike.

Few of my tried out favorites are below, have a look.
